The Queen is to join the nation's fangirl slab-fondlers, according to reports.

The fabulous soaraway Sun has the story, quoting "a royal insider" as saying that the monarch was introduced to the joys of the iPad by her grandsons Princes Wills and Harry.

"The princes think it is hilarious," the person familiar with the royal slablet purchase apparently said. "They love the fact that their gran wants an iPad and think she's really cool."

Reportedly Her Majesty already has two iPods, one of which – crammed with imagery of one of her official trips to the USA – was presented to her by President Barack Obama.

The Sun has already done the "appy and glorious" gag, by the way.
